The Privilege of Going to Mass

What is Holy Mass?

ree

Mass is holy. It’s important. Soon hopefully you'll understand why.

Even to the end so please don’t leave after communion or you will miss the final blessing! Mass is a special privilege. It’s a blessing given to us.

The greatest part of the Catholic Church is the Eucharist! It’s not a symbol. It’s not a wafer. It’s the actual Body & Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord! Wow. That’s powerful. He told us to “take and eat do this in remembrance of me” He suffered and died to save us from our sins so doing this in remembrance of Him means to follow His example and to offer up our sufferings to Christ. When we receive the Eucharist, it is Jesus Christ entering us so that we can go out of Mass better people going out doing as Jesus did speak as Jesus spoke seeing others as He did and loving them as He did too. We cannot act as we did before we received Jesus into our lives because He is now with us. We must do better by following His example. As the priest of deacon say in the end of Mass “go forth proclaiming the gospel of the Lord” we are called to go out and proclaim the good news weather that be in our career paths or our everyday lives by offering up sufferings to the Lord or by joyfully completing a mundane task to help someone out. We must not leave that mass the same as we were before, we must follow the Messiah’s example. I love the mass because of How close we get to be to Jesus. When the priest says the blessing during the preparation and as the cantor, I feel blessed to be singing a hymn of praise to Him during this time as the bread becomes the Body and the wine His blood. The saints and angels sing along during Mass they are also present, so is Mary joyfully celebrating with us while we celebrate the mass. Even before when we carry up the gifts, we are carrying up a saacrifice to God for our sins saying we are sorry and Jesus is that sacrifice for us. Wow that sure shows How much He Loves Us All!

How special a mass is. As the angels in the field sang and as they sing in heaven for Jesus, they sing it with us at mass “holy holy holy” the angels and saints sing out with us. (Wow we are singing with the angels & saints to Jesus! That’s my dream come true. I feel called as a singer & cantor to prepare myself for the day I pray that I can sing before Jesus in heaven with the angels, saints, and my family members.) when you leave church next time think about these things. How will I live my life differently after receiving the body of Christ? Do I view the mass as holy? Do I view the body of Christ as a wafer and go about my day or is it truly Jesus entering into my life? Do I sing out joyfully praising and praying to Jesus through hymns no matter how my voice may sound? (Nobody is judging your singing voice in fact nobody should be judging anybody in church or otherwise!) do I feel the presence of Jesus? If not, maybe I should ask for the intercession of the saints and mother Mary so that I may have a closer relationship with them and have a better understanding and longing to be close to Christ?

What is happening at the holy mass for any who still don’t understand? Well, we read from the bible and sing praises to Him. We prepare ourselves to receive Him into our lives. That’s why you can’t receive communion if you’ve committed a grave sin until you confess and be forgiven and absolved of the sins first so you can be ready to carry Jesus with you as a pure lowly holy vessel as the virgin Mary was sinless and clean pure and good. We say I am not worthy, but your word makes me worthy. We believe He makes us worthy. The eucharist is the greatest part the angels and saints attend mass with us though we cannot see them they praise and sing glory to Him trumpets blaring as Jesus becomes present at the alter before us all when the priest says the blessing and the transubstantiation happens, where the bread and wine become the body and blood of our savior Jesus Christ the Messiah becoming human again imagine how much God loves us for Him to come down die a gruesome death all so that we might have a chance through that narrow gate into heaven. He enters our lives so that we might be made new ready to go out proclaiming the gospel of the Lord. The final blessing after communion prepares us for that so that we can go forth proclaiming His good news to all the world because we are called as so many of the saints have done before us go out and bring all souls to Jesus.

BIBLE QUOTE: “You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” MATTHEW 16:18

BIBLE QUOTE 2: “Take and eat, this is my body.”
