Mother Theresa taught us in her well-known “Fragrance Prayer” to reflect Jesus to others so that we can be lights in the darkness of the world. Someone is lost in the darkness of sin right now, and the devil is tempting them. We must go to their rescue as Jesus came to your rescue. Think about a time you were in darkness or had sinned ? I’m sure you can think of something. Did Jesus send you someone who gave you a shoulder to lead on or advice to get you through it?
What if there is someone waiting for you to be that for them? To get them through that dark time. My brother recently posted a beautiful poem about being light in someone’s darkness that explains just that. Maybe you are the answer to their prayer and Jesus wants you to be His hands on earth to accomplish great things? Don’t wait for someone else to do it go for it.
Mother Theresa continues her prayer to say how we must act and speak in such a way that when people see and hear us they see and hear Jesus through us. That’s what I want with my Catholic music career, for people to see Jesus, Mary, & God through me.
There is a great prayer that we say a part of in Mass every Sunday at our church St Ignatius of Loyola in Ijamsville Md. “Lord help me to see with your eyes, hear with your ears, speak with your words, lift up with your hands, walk with your feet, & love with your heart.Amen"
We also say this clip of the “Universal Prayer”, I offer you, Lord, my thoughts: to be fixed on you; My words: to have you for their theme; My actions: to reflect my love for you; My sufferings: to be endured for your greater glory. I want to do what you ask of me, In the way you ask, For as long as you ask, Because you ask it.
Finally, I’ll end with a personal prayer
This is a Prayer to our lady of Guadalupe that I came up with and I prayed one day and my prayer was answered.
In the name of the Father the Son & the Holy Spirit,
Mother Mary Sweet Loving Lady of Guadalupe, who appeared to Juan Diego and your image portrayed on his cloak
I ask this of you today please imprint the image of your son forever on our hearts so that we may be reflections of His love & mercy to others in Jesus name we ask this. Amen.
BIBLE QUOTE OF THE DAY: “And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. – Ephesians 5:2
