Article 5 -Suffering

Why do Good People Suffer & Bad people get away with things?!

It’s not Fair!!!

ree

There’s your first problem right there. Sorry but it’s true. Good people vs bad people??

We all were made with goodness the light of God we are made in His image with his great love but because of eve’s sin in the garden, there is now sin in the world and we all do it. We are all now sinners. That’s why God sent Jesus to die to save us so our sin wouldn’t mean instant hell but instead we have a chance at heaven, Life eternal.

God tests people’s faith that He will make it okay and our loyalty to Him through sufferings the saints suffered the most in life that was for a reason. He is trying to make people close to God fully ready to be saints. Bad people get their reward by doing whatever they want on earth, but they sacrifice their eternal reward in heaven, that’s forever. We try to do good things, but we must suffer here so that we can have that greater eternal reward in heaven. I don’t want to settle for anything less on earth.  Have great faith in the face of suffering God will look upon u with favor. Good people sometimes feel lost and though their soul is searching for the Lord, people sometimes turn to other lesser sometimes bad and dangerous things that they convince themselves they need or that is the right thing even when it is far from right. The evil one is constantly trying to tempt us into thinking that just one time or just two times or maybe then it turns into more times we think a sin is okay and sometimes convince ourselves that it’s not hurting people when it is. We all are lost at times, but Jesus comes to save us time and time again and bring us back to His great light. We All Sin. So, there are no good guys and bad guys. There are people who have Christ in their lives and their lives revolve around their faith in God and there are some that aren’t there yet that need our prayers and help to get there. Okay so why does it seem like people who do bad things get away with it sometimes and get rewarded while we are struggling just to pay the bills or suffering horrible loss and pain, illnesses, addiction, financial issues, emotional pain, etc.... Why does God let some people suffer so much while others seem to do horrible sinful acts and get rewarded? Its not fair! As a fellow human being I can say for a fact, I have said its not fair to a situation like this before. especially when it seems like one bad thing after the next happens, So, what’s the answer? Well, sometimes its because people who live their lives revolving around themselves instead of God already get things on earth for themselves, but people who devote their lives to God though they may experience pain and suffering though they are doing good things and living the way Jesus taught us they suffer sometimes here on earth but it means their reward will be great in heaven. We are called to sacrifice sometimes during our vocations, wether that be during married life, religious vows, to help out our families, or giving to the poor and being charitible to complete

strangers. Many Saints such as Mother Theresa, St Faustina, St Therese of the Child Jesus, St Ignatius, and many of the saints have said that we must suffer to be closer to God sometimes and have explained that sometimes we receive sufferings tough times and darkness  feeling lost without God in our life though we are trying to Live for Him because God sees our god deeds and looks with favor and great love for us and wants to prepare our souls so sometimes our souls are tested with grief pain loss sadness darkness etc. God never leaves our side through it all. We must continue to have faith especially during those times because it’s one thing to thank and praise and do good deeds for God and His people when things are going great for us but it’s a challenge to truly have faith during the tough times that God is right there. He does still give us small signs, sometimes we don’t look hard enough for them, but it could be a Sunday sermon or a encouraging song that plays when you need it or a kind unexpected person acts like a friend. God will always reveal His light in this time of darkness but it’s important to remember that it’s during these times that we trust God’s timing as we always should when we pray for anything in life, we don’t always receive it instantly its in God’s time. I’ll cover more about prayers in another blog article another day.  Eve’s sin brought about sin and suffering into the world. We must not fall into despair or be afraid for that is what the devil wants He tries to make us doubt. If you are in a spiritual journey in your catholic faith to get closer to Jesus and become a saint then that is why you are being attacked by the evil one and his demons, they attack good holy people to stop them from doing God’s will and tempt them to take a break or do something for themselves instead. He brings them earthly things but hidden in the form of sins in this world. Jesus saved us from these sins He suffered to do so. We must at times suffer for Him. Pay attention to our bible quote today about what the bible says about suffering.

So why does God let some people suffer?

Here are some things that the blessed saints who had a extremely close relationship with our Lord have to say about that.

Saint quotes:

·       Oh, if only the suffering soul knew how it is loved by God, it would die of joy and excess of happiness! Some day, we will know the value of suffering, but then we will no longer be able to suffer. The present moment Is ours. -St Faustina

·       "PAIN AND SUFFERING HAVE COME INTO YOUR LIFE, BUT REMEMBER PAIN, SORROW, SUFFERING ARE BUT THE KISS OF JESUS - A SIGN THAT YOU HAVE COME SO CLOSE TO HIM THAT HE CAN KISS YOU

-ST. MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA

·       I realized that to become a saint one must suffer a great deal, always seek what is best, and forget oneself.— Therese of Lisieux —

·       THOSE WHO PRAY AND SUFFER, LEAVING ACTION FOR OTHERS, WILL NOT SHINE HERE ON EARTH; BUT WHAT A RADIANT CROWN THEY WILL WEAR IN THE KINGDOM OF LIFE!BLESSED BE THE "APOSTOLATE OF SUFFERING"! -St Josemaria

·       St Ignatius- “If God sends you many sufferings it is a sign that HE has great plans for you, and certainly wants to make you a saint.”

(Wow what a blessing that is! Thank you beautiful saints for teaching us these lessons. The saints sure are great guides and role models for our lives. There are many more things that the saints teach us about sacrifice and suffering.)

Bible quotes about suffering:

No one has greater love than this: that He laid down His life for His friends.

 John 15

Matthew16:24 “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
