A Few Prayers🙏

Don’t know what to say when you pray?

Here are some powerful Prayers that you can pray & some ideas how to know what to say

Hope these are helpful to you. 😊🙏God Bless You

There’s thousands of prayers, prsyer cards, prayer videos, songs/hymns, etc

Pray silently or through song joyfully proclaiming singing His goodness and talking to Him through a song as I like to do often I feel very close to Him personally in this way but find what works for you a prayer corner is nice, in church at adoration is a good choice too, just walking around the house doing chores but having a conversation with God is a way you can pray too. It’s not something that has to be perfect. Tears are prayers too begging for God to help or laugher & joy that are offered up to our Lord thankfully count as well.

Whatever you pray about make sure you start with the sign of the cross. This is a very powerful expression of what you believe.

When in doubt tell Jesus

“I Love You”. You can say it as many times as you want to. Or “Jesus I Need You”

Another simple one that is very powerful that Jesus told St Faustina something like this, that if people only said “Jesus I Trust in You” or Jesus I Trust in Thee” while looking at my “Divine Mercy” image with great love they will be filled with my graces.

other simple ones include Mercy Jesus Mercy & Jesus Mary Joseph Intercede for us

Holy Family Sacred heart prayers:

Sacred Heart of Jesus Make our hearts like Thine

Immaculate Heart of Mary Protect us with your prayers

Chaste heart of St Joseph pray for us and our families

There are many Holy Family/Christmas/Easter/New Years/St Patrick’s Day (breastplate prayer)/St Valentines Day/& Other Holiday Prayers as well.

The most common are the

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Those are the top ones that are great to say.

There is a specific prayer before meals that we say as Catholics that you can learn too!

You can even find Prayers for your home and for your pets as well… or make up your own prayers. Reciting specific ones that Jesus & Mary gave to us are importsnt however Jesus has expressed that those that come to Him with even the simplest prayer but with great love in their hearts trying their best are His own.

The Act of Contrition is a prayer that you say when you are sorry for a sin that you have committed and are asking for forgiveness during confession.

There are morning prayers, evening/ night prayers, midday prayers , prayers to say in the middle of the night if you wake up, and more

Sometimes there are more modern newer versions of some prayers but certain ones it doesn’t really matter if they are just a change in some similar wording whereas others make a big difference like perhaps some sort of a wording change in the creed.

You can ask for the intercession of the saints they each have their own prayers too like asking st St Therese for a sign of roses as a sign of a grace from God I’ve often asked her for this after requesting a specific intention and then I see a rose or flower shortly after and surely enough one way or another my prayer was or soon will have been answered not always in the way I think I need but in the way God knows I need it) or St Anthony (asking for help if you feel lost or have something lost) St Rita (for peace in your marriage) St Monica (for mothers) Saint Francis (for a pet, etc) St Elizabeth Ann Seton (for teachers/educators), St Zita(patron of cleaning & being a servant as we are all called to be servants to each other humbly as Jesus told us to be), St Ignatius (injured in battle and living a vain life for himself he read the Bible in the hospital and decided he wanted to be a saint and live for himself. We all have those moments the cannonball moments as it’s called for St Ignatius where we realize wow I need to make a change or God is calling me to something how do I start? Well St Ignatius is the saint to go to for help) St Faustina (one of my favorites who was devot d to the divine mercy of Jesus & saw visions of Him appear to her telling her to have the image of His divine mercy made as well as giving her the Chaplet of Divine Mercy & starting Divine Mercy Sunday) John the Baptist( who paved the way for Jesus, as we all are called to do. Bring others to Christ) Mary Magdalene (who intercedes for those longing to grow in faith as she had great faith standing by the cross til the end as well as for those who have sinned and are asking for forgiveness to our Lord) and many more wonderful saints who will intercede for you (or your situation on your behalf) because they love you and want to see your soul in heaven and they have such a close relationship with our Lord because of the way they lived their lives , that they intervene for us asking for our intentions on our behalf.

Angel prayers:

Guardian Angel prayer-Angel of God my guardian dear to whom God‘s love commits me here ever this day be at my side to light to guard to rule to guide amen

(You can talk to your guardian angel they are trying to help get your soul to heaven ask them to help you with a specific thing your struggling with or ask them to help out a loved one and their guardian angel who is fighting for them to help them and that person may be struggling with an addiction , a sin, an illness, hard work, etc..)

Archangels:

St Micheal Prayer- Saint Michael the Archangel defend us in battle be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil may God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou o Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls amen

(We can ask Saint Micheal to protect us and help us to fight against the evil of the world)

(St Micheal has many other prayers as well)

Archangels

St Gabriel & St Rapheal (prayers to Raphael can include asking for his intercession in family life or finding love or healing & Gabriel we can ask him as he proclaimed the greatest messages in the Bible including the good news of Christ to Mary that we too may boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus to the world)

(They both are great warriors of God as well)

Mary Prayers/etc…

The Holy Medal Prayer is the

O Mary conceived without sin prayer

Hail holy queen prayer is one that we end with during a rosary.

Some churches still provide the beautiful Traditional Latin Mass. Ecclesiastic Latin Hymns are sung or chanted & Prayers are prayed.

Daily Prayers On YouTube :

Come pray with me daily prayers on YouTube @elizabethchasemusic every day new Saint of the day and/or feast day prayers, hymns, & psalms in English and many in Latin as well!

Fatima Prayer - O My Jesus forgive us our sins save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven. Help especially those most in need of Thy Mercy.

(Our lady has appeared as Our Lady Of Chestahowa, Our Lady of Grace, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Our lady of Guadalupe and many other times other prayer cards for those apparitions are available based on prayers that our Lady has told us to say such as at Lourdes, or Fatima)

Our Lady of Guadalupe Prayer that I made up:

“Blessed Mother please as God imprinted your image on the cloak of St Juan Diego, I pray that through your intercession, the image of your Holy son’s sacred heart will be imprinted upon our own hearts”

The Tessera Prayers (Legion of Mary Prayers)

including the rosary, and other prayers…

(Ex: Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising fair as the moon bright as the sun terrible as an army set in battle array o Mary conceived without an pray for us who have recourse to thee) Other Religious orders, laypeople, etc have their own specific prayers.

This is one that Father Brian Nolan says (our church priest) at St Ignatius church after communion:

Lord help me to see with your eyes hear with your ears speak with your words lift up with your hands walk with your feet and love with your heart.

Another one he says at our church is part of the Universal Prayer (I recommend looking up the full thing) the clip goes like this: I want to do what you ask of me in the way you ask it for as long as you ask because you ask it

Apostles Creed & Nicene Creed are impoetant ones to know for mass & the rosary too!

Original Birthday Prayer:

Thank you Jesus for this birthday today.

Please continue to bless me & everyone most in need of your graces. I pray for special birthday graces for all who look to you with love and pray on their birthdays.

As I turn 28 I thank you for my year being 27. I’ll never forget how you focused my heart, mind, & soul toward deeper understanding & longing to do the Father’s will. Thank you Jesus.

The Come Holy Spirit Prayer & asking the spirit for the fruits of the spirit & for help obtaining the virtues, prayers directly speaking to God as well just like speaking to a loving Father.

Other prayers include:

The Holy Rosary (given to St Dominic told to tell everyone the great graces received from saying this, it also battles again demons and scares them) , Divine Mercy Chaplet (Jesus told Faustina My great mercy will fall upon those who recite it with love) , St Micheal/other Saint/Angel Chaplets/Litanies (ex: Litany of the Saints) , The Prayer Rope (simple prayer-Lord Jesus Christ Son of God Have Mercy on Me a Sinner.)

Communion prayer idea:

I like to say this one after communion. It’s a mash up of padre Pio’s stay with me prayer & mother Theresa’s (radiate Christ) prayer, something Saint Therese (the little flower) said in her book Story of a Soul, and parts I came up with . “Stay with me. Be so in me that all my life may radiate your love. That when others look or speak to me they will see and know only you through me. May I be a mere spec reflecting your image”

Reflecting on the mysteries of the rosary:

Sorrowful mysteries :

The Agony in garden:

The disciples fell asleep when Jesus asked them to pray with Him. How often do we turn to check our phones when Jesus asks us for time praying with Him?

Scourging at the Pillar:

Prayer:

Stop us o lord let your saints intercede before we crack the whip of sin upon thy holy back

Crowning of Thorns :

forgive us when we return to sin driving those thorns deeper as we turn away from your love

Carrying the Cross:

As you carry your cross in which you died to save us upon help us remember how you now walk beside us helping us carry our little crosses in everyday life now.

The Crucifixion:

(Take a moment to genuflect or bow before the crucifix)

By your death we have been set free from the slavery of sin now now have a way to Heaven because of your great sacrifice ! Help us to always choose You Jesus in our lives & the Holy way of the Father.

Let us not be those who cast lots and watch from a distance thinking that you will answer our prayers in the way we think we need as they once yelled bring yourself down then we will believe but instead help us to have such a great faith to look beyond our own self and our way to see your far greater way! Help us not to be those shouting out in the crowd but those who come lovingly to your feet to adore you and know as the man on the one cross next to you knew we are not worthy but if it is your will show us mercy so that we may be with you in paradise. (There are prayers before a crucifix that you can say as well)

Joyful Mysteries:

The annunciation-(we pray that we may say yes to God’s call for our lives as Mary did)

Visitation- Mary visits Elizabeth & her baby John the Baptist leaps in her womb at Christ’s presence & Elizabeth calls Mary “Blessed amongst women” I pray that we always remember to honor our blessed mother and ask her for her guidance and help in our lives to grow closer to Jesus)

Nativity- (God sent His only son into the world not to condemn the world for its sin but to become a human baby boy and to live life and experience it so He knew what it was like for us He looks at us with much mercy and compassion) “the Lord is Kind & Merciful”

Presentation-(Jesus fulfills the word in the Old Testament for He is the new word)

Finding Jesus in the Temple - (we need not be anxious about anything, for we can always find Jesus in the church in the Eucharist)

Glorious :

Resurrection- (Hope in our world)

Ascension -(He’s making a place for us!)

Descent of the Holy Spirit- (come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of your faithful enkindle in them the fire of your love)

Mary’s Assumption- (our worthy blessed holy mother taken body & soul into heaven where her Son had a special place for her prepared)

Coronation of Mary-(Queen of Heaven now the angels rejoice ! The Queen is good to us and intercedes to the father & her Son our King)

Luminous :

Baptism of Jesus (the spirit came like a dove upon Him, John prepared the way for Him, we must remember what our baptism means for us)

Wedding at Cana (Mary first interceded for us because she loves us so much/Jesus’s first miracle -he turns our situations that are filled with worrying with peace and answers prayers we didn’t even realize could be answered that way )

Proclaiming the kingdom of God (Jesus teach us as you taught your disciples how to get to heaven and do the will of the Father. Please help us to also go out and proclaim the good news of God!)

Transfiguration (God says Jesus is His son & He talks to the prophets of old/help us to grow in faith without needing to see any miracles to believe Lord)

Institution of the Holy Eucharist (Jesus said this is my body , this is my blood… we pray “Lord Jesus we are ready to recieve you into our lives!”)
